I’m going to reach 50k followers

I’m going to generate 20,000 MRR

I’m going to be the most recognized person in my niche

Yes these are great goals/expectations

But are they reasonable for where you are starting out?

If you are an account starting at 0 then getting your first 100 should be the main objective

First you crawl, then you walk and finally you run

Trying to bypass each step will only leave you feeling disappointed and frustrated

I’ve been there… trust me when I say that feeling sucks

This week I listened to Creator Science it’s a podcast by Jay Clouse give him a follow on Twitter and check out the pod if you haven’t already

His guest was Justin Welsh one of top creators across Twitter & LinkedIn

One thing that stood out to me was Justin’s take on doing to much at once

We see big creators everywhere:

• Twitter

• Instagram

• Youtube

• LinkedIn

It’s as if everywhere you go… poof they appear like some kind of Chris Angel Mindfreak magic trick

It then creeps in to our mind that we must follow the same path

But thats where we are wrong

You see if you can’t master one platform

What makes you think you can master 4 or 5 at ONE TIME?

Its a balancing act you aren’t prepared for when you first start down this road as a creator

As I mentioned above you must crawl before you run, not skipping any steps in between

I’ve thought this many times as a beginner

My thinking was this “If i expand on other platforms I will drive more traffic to each in some kind of content matrix”

But the truth is if you cant dominate one platform, you wont be able to dominate multiple platforms

After listening to the podcast I thought to myself “damn they dropped so many gems how can I comb through and find something to talk about”

Then it hit me… OtterAI

If you haven’t heard of OtterAI in short it’s a voice to text transcriber that you can use for Zoom, Google meets, and your own conversations

After going through it I found a section I thought was interesting

Typed up a thread and hit publish

The result…

Justin Welsh Retweeted it in front of 348,000 people
